Gregg Marshall

Gregg Marshall is regarded as a pioneer in the foodservice distribution industry.  He founded The SYGMA Network, Inc. in 1984, and served as its CEO until his retirement in 2006.  Denver-based SYGMA grew to become one of Colorado's largest companies and the primary food source for thousands of U.S. chain restaurants. With annual sales exceeding $4 billion, SYGMA trucks travel more than one and a half million miles per week supplying the complete product needs of chain restaurants from sixteen distribution centers across America.  SYGMA is now the largest subsidiary of Houston-based SYSCO Corporation, a Fortune 100 company for which Mr. Marshall also served as a senior officer.

Mr. Marshall began his foodservice distribution career in 1965 as a warehouseman and driver while earning a B.A. from Colorado College and an M.B.A from the University of Denver, and then held officer positions at Shamrock Foods: Nobel, Inc.; and Leprino Foods before founding SYGMA.  Since his retirement, he has been active as a consultant with restaurant chains, foodservice suppliers, and private equity firms, and serves on several boards.
